Noida Supertech Twin Towers Demolished, End To Nine-Year-Long Battle

Noida: The Supertech twin towers in Noida were demolished at 2.30 pm, putting an end to a 9-year-long battle.

  • The Edifice official Chetan Dutta said that the demolition of the Supertech Twin Towers was 100 percent successful.
  • He further claimed that Emerald Court which was close to the Twin Tower was completely safe after demolition.
  • Ritu Maheshwari, CEO Noida Authority, in a statement confirmed that “10 metres boundary wall of a nearby society, ATS has been damaged after being hit by the debris.”
  • She further assured that no damage have been reported apart from that.
  • She further added that Pre and Post Demolition Data from AQI is almost the same.
  • She further added that “Around 7pm, the residents of nearby vacated societies will be allowed to go back to their homes. Around 100 water tankers and 300 cleaning staff have been deployed here.”
  • The 100-meter-tall structure were demolished with the help of 3,700kgs of explosives in an expected time of 9 seconds.
  • This is the highest structure ever to be demolished in 9 seconds.
  • The demolition left behind approximately 35,000 cubic meters of debris that would take at least three months to be cleared.
  • The air space in one nautical mile radius above the blast will also remain briefly unavailable for flights during demolition time.
  • Around 3,000 vehicles have been moved from the site of demolition.
  • Chetan Dutta, the person responsible for pressing the trigger button claimed that “there will be no danger and we are sure that the building will collapse properly.”
  • Impact cushions were installed to reduce the impact of vibration.
