We found many Facebook users sharing the same post in 2018.
Running a Reverse Image Search, we identified a colourful painting of the same picture on Facebook. The image had been shared by one Ranu Shankar on May 10, 2020, with a caption: “#रानू नीलम शंकर अपने #मां स्वर्गीय #नीलम शंकर के गोद में!! (1977_78).” (English translation: Ranu Nilam Shankar with his late mother Nilam Shankar (1977-78)
Ranu Nilam Shankar had also shared the same picture on Facebook multiple times over the years. The post can be seen here, here and here. In one of the posts, he had also mentioned that the picture was taken in Muzaffarpur, Bihar.
Hence, it can be concluded that the picture has been circulated with false claims.
