A video showing people holding ‘No Vote To BJP’ placards at different locations is doing the rounds on social media, claiming that the NRIs have started a global campaign against BJP ahead of the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections.

With a keyword search, we found that the same clip uploaded on the YouTube channel ‘No Vote To BJP‘ on April 24, 2021, with a title: Bengalis across the world say #NoVoteToBJP.

We also found their Twitter and Instagram pages where they used the hashtag #BengalElections2021 in the bio.

Multiple media reports from 2021 talk about the ‘No Vote To BJP’ a campaign led by common people. The media reports can be seen here, here and here.

Thus, it is clear that the viral video is not related to the Karnataka Assembly elections.
