DGCA Issues Show Cause Notice To GoFirst, Directs Airline To Stop Further Bookings

New Delhi: In a major blow to the financially troubled GoFirst Airlines, the DGCA has issued a show cause notice to the airline for their failure to continue operations in a safe, efficient, reliable manner and directed it to immediately stop bookings and sale of tickets directly or indirectly till further orders.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation in a statement has asked GoFirst to submit a response within a span of 15 days of the receipt of notice and added that further decision on the continuation of their Air Operators Certificate (AOC) will be taken on the basis of the reply submitted by them.

Earlier on Friday, Go First cancelled all flights until May 12 due to operational reasons.

In a statement, the airline operator added “A full refund will be issued to the original mode of payment shortly.”

In a statement, DGCA said that Go First has intimated that they have suspended the sale of their flights till May 15, 2023, and are working to refund or reschedule for future dates, the passengers already booked to fly with them.
