Delhi Weather: Heavy Rainfall Causes Waterlogging In Several Areas, IMD Issues “Yellow” Alert

New Delhi: Delhi experienced a downpour on Saturday morning as heavy rainfall drenched the national capital, leading to waterlogging in various parts of the city. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted further downpours in the upcoming days.

Significant waterlogging in Connaught Place, ITO, and other areas of Delhi hindered traffic’s movement due to the heavy rainfall.

An “orange” alert has been issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for Delhi, indicating the likelihood of moderate rainfall, thundershowers, and strong winds of 30 to 40 kmph.

The city enjoyed a delightful climate, with the minimum temperature reaching 25 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees below the seasonal norm. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 30 degrees Celsius. While Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded in the ‘satisfactory’ category with a reading of 79 during the early morning hours.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), in its latest forecast, also predicted moderate rainfall in several different areas. These areas include Delhi and NCR, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Assandh, Safidon, Panipat, Gohana, Gannaur, Meham, Sonipat, Rohtak, Kharkhoda, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Mattanhail, Jhajjar, Kosali, Sohana, Rewari (in Haryana), Saharanpur, Gangoh, Deoband, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Kandhla, Khatauli, Sakoti Tanda, Baraut, Daurala, Bagpat, Meerut, Khekra, Modinagar, Pilakhua, Hapur, Gulaoti, Sikandrabad (in Uttar Pradesh), and Bhiwari, Tizara, Nagar, Laxmangarh, Mahawa, Mahawa, and Mahandipur Balaji (in Rajasthan).
