A video depicting a group of leopards leaping from a gate is widely shared on social media, claiming that the leopard herd was spotted in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.
The video is shared on Facebook with a caption, “*जबलपुर खमरिया के बंगले में एक साथ दिखे 4 तेंदुए* गेट से कूद कर आए अंदर; तेंदुए का कुनबा देख दहशत में आए लोग” (English version: See below.)

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be FALSE.
Searching on Google with relevant keywords, the NM team discovered that the video was shared by a Twitter user, dated March 5, 2024, claiming it was outside at the ordnance factory in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra. This information had been also shared by several other social media users.
Another report on the official website of India Today reveals that on March 4, four leopards were spotted roaming in a residential area in Chandrapur, Maharashtra. One ordnance factory officer, Naveen Gehlot, captured a video of the leopards near his bungalow and shared it on social media. The report was published on March 7, 2024.
Many other news publications like Bhaskar and India Times also featured similar visuals stating that the incident happened in Maharashtra.
Thus, it is confirmed that the viral video is from Maharashtra, NOT Madhya Pradesh.
