PM Modi Asserts Strong Anti-Terror Stance, Highlights BJP Govt’s Achievements

Date:

Dehradun: Addressing a public rally in Uttarakhand’s Rishikesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted on Thursday that under the BJP government’s tenure at the Centre, significant strides have been made in combating terrorism, citing the surgical strike and Balakot air strike as examples.

“In the 10 years of the BJP government, terrorists are being targeted in their own domains,” Prime Minister Modi stated, underlining the government’s firm stance against terrorism.

Addressing a diverse array of achievements under his government, PM Modi particularly emphasized the revocation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, asserting it as a pivotal decision taken by the NDA regime.

“Today, the nation boasts a robust government. Under this ‘mazboot Modi sarkar,’ terrorists are being eliminated from their strongholds,” the Prime Minister affirmed. “The Indian tricolour now symbolizes security even in conflict zones.”

PM Modi highlighted the government’s efforts in implementing key reforms, including the abolition of triple talaq and the introduction of reservation for economically disadvantaged sections, alongside the empowerment of women through legislation.

“When the country had a feeble government, adversaries exploited the situation,” Modi cautioned, indirectly referencing the previous administrations.

Taking a swipe at the Congress party, PM Modi criticized its historical lack of investment in defense infrastructure, contrasting it with the BJP’s initiatives in providing domestically manufactured bulletproof jackets to soldiers.

“From modern rifles to fighter planes and aircraft carriers, India is now self-reliant in defense production,” Modi proclaimed, showcasing the strides made in indigenous defense manufacturing.

With Uttarakhand poised for elections on April 19, PM Modi rallied support for NDA candidates, affirming the party’s commitment to serving the state’s interests.

The NDA has nominated Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah, Anil Baluni, Ajay Tamta, Ajay Bhatt, and Trivendra Singh Rawat for the Tehri Garhwal, Garhwal, Almora (SC), Nainital-Udhamsingh Nagar, and Haridwar Lok Sabha constituencies, respectively. Meanwhile, the Congress has fielded Jot Singh Guntsola, Ganesh Godiyal, Pradeep Tamta, Prakash Joshi, and Virendra Rawat for the same constituencies.

Notably, the BJP aims to secure victories across all five Lok Sabha seats in Uttarakhand, replicating its successes in the 2014 and 2019 general elections.

In the 2019 elections, Union Minister of State for Tourism and Defence Ajay Bhatt clinched the Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar seat, securing a decisive victory over former Chief Minister Harish Rawat by a margin of 3,39,096 votes, marking the largest victory margin among BJP candidates in the state.
