Pop sensation Dua Lipa made her debut on Saturday Night Live and delved into the essence of her latest studio album, ‘Radical Optimism’, as reported by Deadline.
Taking the SNL stage hot on the heels of her album release, Dua Lipa shared insights into the album’s theme, describing it as an ode to finding the silver lining in every situation. She encouraged the audience to engage in discussions about their challenges, showcasing how she’d approach them.
In one sketch, Andrew Dismukes portrayed an audience member grappling with marital woes, to which Dua Lipa responded with a dose of her trademark optimism. “Well, on the bright side, now you’ll have more time to spend with your mom,” Dua Lipa said. “See, radical optimism.”Another audience member, played by Bowen Yang, shared his doctor’s advice to quit drinking, prompting Dua Lipa to inject humor with her positive outlook.
Turning her attention to a third audience member, portrayed by Heidi Gardner as South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, Dua Lipa playfully dismissed her attempt to participate. She also referenced her dance moves, now famous as a meme, with a playful “Go girl, give us nothing” remark.
Deadline reported her quip, “But I didn’t give you nothing. I gave you the greatest meme of all time.”
