4 children charred to death in Ghaziabad car blast

Ghaziabad: Four children were charred to death and another severely injured after an alleged explosion of their car loaded with crackers in Farrukh Nagar, police said on Sunday.

Aksha (6), Farhaan (8), Sarika (3) and Farhan (8) lost their lives after they entered a car parked outside their house and fully loaded with crackers, exploded today in Farrukh Nagar town under Sahibabad police station area, ASP Vipin Tada said.

The fifth child Krish (7) sustained severe burn injuries and has been admitted to a private hospital, he said.

Aksha and Farhaan were the children of Rizwan; Sarika, the daughter of Furkhan; Farhan, son of Sazid and Krish belonged to Praveen, police said.

The incident was a result of negligence on part of the car owner Rizwan who had parked the unlocked car loaded with fire crackers outside his house, following which the children playing outside entered the car, SHO Upendra Yadav said.

A forensic team has been summoned to the site to ascertain the real cause of the incident, police said.

The bodies have been sent for post mortem, Yadav said, adding that no case has been registered in the incident so far.

“We will file an FIR once a complaint is filled,” Yadav said.
