Google confirms Oct 13 launch date for Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P in India

New Delhi: It’s official! Google has confirmed to launch the new Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P in India on October 13. The search giant has started sending out invites for the event that will take place in Delhi.

The search giant has sent invites to the media for an event scheduled next Tuesday, where it’s expected to unveil Nexus devices. Google has decided to introduce Huawei built Nexus 6P and LG-built Nexus 5X in India even before the new iPhones that arrive on Oct 16.

The all-new Nexus 6P has a 5.7-inch AMOLED display with QHD (1440x2560p) resolution and comes with the integrated Nexus Imprint fingerprint sensor on the back. The smartphone is reportedly powered by Snapdragon 810 processor and comes with 3GB RAM available in three storage variants: 32, 64 and 128GB; there is no support for storage expansion.

The smartphone sports a 12.3MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera, the highest resolution for selfie camera for a Nexus smartphone yet. The device packs a 3,450mAh battery, and comes with front-facing stereo speakers.

Meanwhile, the Nexus 5X features a 5.2-inch screen, 2 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB RAM, 12.3 MP rear and 5MP front camera and a 2,700 mAh battery.

According to the Google Play Store listing, the Nexus 5X will be priced at Rs 31,900 (for 16GB variant) and Rs 35,900 (32GB), while Nexus 6P will be available at Rs 39,999 (32GB) and Rs 42,999 (64GB).
