J’khand HC asks state govt to submit report on traffic probs

The Jharkhand High Court today directed the state government to place before it a report on the arrangements it had made to ease traffic and encroachment problems in Ranchi.

Hearing a PIL filed by a social activist Ashish Kumar Singh, the division bench of Chief Justice Virendra Kumar Singh and P P Bhatt sought to know the status of proposed flyovers in the city and what arrangements had been taken to ease traffic jams and encroachments, directing the state to come up with the status report next month.

The court also directed the state to disallow setting up roadside shops on the main Mahatma Gandhi Marg till completion of Dipawali and Chhat puja.
