Sowing for Rabi crops gains momentum in Chhattisgarh

The favorable climatic condition has added momentum to the sowing of Rabi crops in Chhattisgarh where so far nearly 30 per cent of sowing of various crops in the ongoing season has been completed.

The farmers have completed sowing of Rabi crops on around 5,06,000 hectares of land against the proposed target of 17 lakh hectares in the state,? Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal said today.

As weather becoming clear day by day thereby speeding up the sowing of crops, he added.

While the target is to cover an area of 8.75 lakh hectares under pulses cultivation, oilseeds would be sown in 2.75 lakh hectares, he said.
