Fire breaks out at KCR’s Yagna event

Date:

Medak: Fire broke out at Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s ‘Ayutha Maha Chandi Yagam’ main pandal on Sunday. The cause of fire is still not known.

Four fire tenders rushed to the spot and the fire was brought under control. There have been no casualties in the incident.

A whopping Rs 7 crore is reportedly being spent to organise the event at chief minister’s farmhouse in Erravelli village in Medak district. President Pranab Mukherjee is also scheduled to attend the ritual on Sunday.

Earlier, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu attended the ceremony. He was received with ‘Poornakumbham’ and full honours and spent more than an hour-and-a-half at the ‘Yagashala’.

The crowds were lesser in number on the final day compared to the teeming lakhs who came in the first four days.
