Amal Clooney named Most fascinating person of 2014

Date:

London: George Clooney’s wife Amal has been named as Barbara Walters’s most fascinating person of 2014. The 36-year-old human rights lawyer was chosen as part of the recently-retired journalist’s ’10 Most Fascinating People special for ABC’.

Amal sits in the top spot among the likes of previous winners including, Nelson Mandela, Bill Clinton, Mother Teresa, Hillary Clinton, Steve Jobs and JK Rowling.

“Amazingly, Amal has been the subject of very little snark or envy,” Walters said. “Maybe because we, like George Clooney, find it impossible to resist perfection. Or maybe because it is heartening to think that no matter how long it may take, the perfect someone is out there for everyone,” Walters added.

Chart-topping singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, Lucy leading lady Scarlett Johansson, Netflix-bound chatshow host Chelsea Handler and OWN boss Oprah Winfrey were previously announced among the top ten.
