Unseen Kerala vignettes on display in Dubai

Dubai, Aug 19 (PTI) A four-day exhibition of captivatingphotographs of fascinating landscape of mountains, forests andrivers in Kerala is being held here to promote the state’stourism in the Middle East. Titled "ItsTheWayYouSeeIt", the exhibition showcasesphotographs that capture the uniqueness of Kerala’s 209-km-long Bharatapuzha (River Nila). The event, hosted by The Blue Yonder- an enterpriseworking in the field of travel industry, began on August 17 atthe Cartoon Art Gallery here. It showcases captivating pictures by travel photographerAjay Menon, which takes viewers through a fascinatinglandscape of mountains, forests, rivers and the mesmerisingmonsoon – all defined by the River Nila. An integral part of the cultural and the social fabric ofKerala, River Nila is the second-longest in the state. The exhibition also appeals to the people from the MiddleEast to visit Kerala thereby boosting the state’s tourism. "We already have three campaigns that are beingactivated, which will not only appeal to Indians living in theGulf but also for Arabs and western expatriates who findKerala as a fascinating getaway," Gopinath Parayil, theorganisation’s founder, said. "16 travellers from different parts of India, USA andFrance travelled through three districts of Palakkad, Thrissurand Malappuram documenting the rich cultural heritage,legends, folklore, rituals and practices.
