Missing woman’s body found on railway tracks

Kolkata, Aug 23 (PTI) The body of a missing woman wasfound on railway tracks near Jadavpur station by theGovernment Railway Police, prompting the police to start aninvestigation. The husband of the 39-year-old woman complained to thepolice that the she had committed suicide failing to cope withmental torture at the KS Roy and TB Hospital where she was anurse, DC South Suburban Division (SSD) Badana Varun ChandraSekhar said. The husband of the woman, whose body was recoveredyesterday, a resident of Ibrahimpur Road Government Housingunder Jadavpur Police Station, alleged that before "committingsuicide", she had sent him a voice message (audio textmessage) holding a couple of officials of the hospital formentally torturing her and unable to cope with that she tookthe drastic step. "An initial investigation revealed that the woman wasupset after she was transferred to another hospital recently.She had made several requests which were not entertained bythe authorities. We are talking to officials of the hospitaland her family members," he said. The message received by the woman’s husband was beingexamined, the officer said. PTI SCHMD
