Former TNCC prez Elangovan among Cong leaders booked

Chennai, Aug 24 (PTI) Police today booked senior stateCongress leaders, including former TNCC President E V K SElangovan for alleged unlawful assembly and criminalintimidation. The case was registered on a complaint from statePresident of Tamil Nadu Pradesh Youth Congress, J VijayElanchezhiyan, police said. He had alleged that Elangovan had intimidated him andissued threat while having a discussion with his colleagues atTNCC headquarters, Satyamurthy Bhavan on Tuesday, a CityPolice release said. The case was filed under different sections of IPC likeSection 143 (Unlawful Assembly) and 506 (ii) (CriminalIntimidation) against Elangovan, TNCC spokesperson A Gopanna,party’s North Chennai district secretary N Rangabashyam andfour others, it said.
