Tanker scam: ACB gives questionnaire to Dikshit

New Delhi, Aug 28 (PTI) Former Chief Minister SheilaDikshit was today handed over a set of at least 15 questionsby Delhi’s Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) probing themulti-crore tankar scam, and has been asked to reply to thequeries within the next few days. A team of ACB officials visited Dikshit’s residence inNizamuddin area here and gave the questionnaire on the scam. "We have asked her to reply to the questions within nexttwo-three days," said a senior ACB official. Dikshit, however, told the ACB team that she would not beable to reply to the questions immediately and that she neededmore time. The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party government had inJune last year constituted a fact-finding committee to probethe irregularities in procuring some 385 stainless steel watertankers by the Delhi Jal Board in 2012 when Dikshit wasleading a Congress government. The Delhi government had in June sent a report of thefact-finding committee on the scam to Lt Governor Najeeb Jungfollowing which an FIR was registered in connection with thematter. The ACB then had said that they would question Dikshit inconnection with allegations against her relating to the scam. Dikshit had all along been maintaining that there was nocorruption at all in procurement of tankers and that theallegations were "politically motivated". PTI VIT GJS MPBSMN
