Two eunuchs booked for allegedly robbing woman of jewellery

Mumbai, Aug 28 (PTI) Two eunuchs have been booked forallegedly robbing a woman of her jewellery worth around Rs 7.5lakh in suburban Kandivali, police said today. The incident took place last evening at Charkop. Asper the complainant, the accused came at her residence andapproached her on the pretext of asking for water, a seniorpolice official said. When the woman went inside her house, the two eunuchsallegedly spread some chemical in the house after which shebecame unconscious, said the official. The duo then took the key of almirah from a drawer inher house and looted jewellery worth Rs 7.5 lakh, he said. However, the accused, whose identity is yet to beestablished, did not steal the cash which was kept along withthe jewellery in the almirah and also did not steal theornaments which the woman was wearing, the official said. A case under section 394 (voluntary causing hurt incausing robbery), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison etc tocommit an offence) and 452 (house trespass after preparationfor hurt assault or wrongful restraint) of IPC was registeredin this regard, police said, adding investigations are on.
