2.5 kg gold hidden in AI flight toilet seized

Panaji, Aug 29 (PTI) Nearly 2.5 kg of gold jewelleryconcealed in a toilet of an Air India flight, which todayarrived at Goa airport from Dubai, was seized by the Customsand Central Excise officials. "The gold was hidden in the toilet on the flight whicharrived here this morning. We found 2.5 kg of unclaimed goldworth Rs 70 lakh," a Customs spokesman told PTI. The airlines staff is under the scanner, he said,adding that investigators are also going through the list ofpassengers who flew in the flight. The flight left for Bengaluru from Goa after theCustoms officials completed their formalities. This is the third such instance of unclaimed goldbeing found in Air India flight which arrived from Dubai toGoa this year, he said. PTI RPS GK DIPBAS
