Mobile court in Rajkot to punish those littering the city

Rajkot, Sep 1 (PTI) Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC)today launched ‘mobile court’ to hand out on-the-spotpunishment to those violating health and sanitation norms. Principal District Judge I C Shah flagged off the court– a mini-bus which will have on board a judicial magistrate,policemen, a clerk and an RMC employee. "RMC’s efforts to keep the city clean will get a boostwith the launch of the mobile court as it will punish thoseviolating norms of health and sanitation on the spot,"Commissioner Vijay Nehra said. "RMC had urged the state government to allow such afacility to keep the city clean, and the government approved,"he added. The civic body will bear all the expenses of the mobilecourt. The court will ply in various parts of the city and willfine people spotted littering, Nehra said. Rajkot District Collector Vikrant Pandey, PoliceCommissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot, Rajkot rural SP Antrip Soodwere among those present during the flagging off ceremony. PTIVJA KA KRKCHTRDS
