10 dead as blast rocks Philippine city: police

Manila, Sep 2 (AFP) At least 10 people died and dozenswere injured when an explosion rocked a market area inPhilippine President Rodrigo Duterte’s southern home city ofDavao tonight, police said. The explosion occurred close to one of Davao’s top hotelsthat is popular with tourists and business people, cityspokeswoman Catherine dela Rey told AFP. "There was an explosion but as to what caused it, it isstill under investigation," dela Rey said. "Ten people died on the spot, at least 30 injured." (AFP)CPS
