Sushil demands probe into liquor recovery from JD(U) leader’s

house Patna, Sep 3 (PTI) BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi todaydemanded that Bihar Chief Secretary and Director General ofPolice (DGP) inquire the recovery of liquor bottles from anarrested JD(U) block president’s house in Nalanda and thedistrict administration’s alleged bid to cover up. Excise officials had recovered 168 bottles (200 ml each)of country-made liquor in seven cartons from the house ofHarnaut block JD(U) president Chandrajeet Kumar Sen alias MotiSingh in Lohra village of Nalanda district on August 30, Modisaid. Sen was arrested by the police but his wife MadhumitaSingh, who is the village-head, was not held, he said,alleging that senior officials of the district were trying toprotect the JD(U) member while trying to falsely implicateanother person in the case. Talking to reporters after visiting Lohra village today,Modi said, "The Chief Secretary and the DGP should inquireinto the entire incident as both the District Magistrate andthe Superintendent of Police are trying to protect the blockpresident of ruling JD(U) while another person, SaumendraSingh, political rival of Sen, is being falsely implicated inthe case." Modi claimed that the DM and the SP have written a jointletter, mentioning Sen as innocent, which would be submittedbefore the court to help him secure bail. "What is happening in the name of prohibition in Biharwhere DM and SP are working as JD(U) worker," he wondered.(MORE) PTI AR SUSKIS
