Abhiyan claims two liquor vends ‘closed’ in west Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 10 (PTI) Two liquor vends were "closed"today following a campaign in the west Delhi’s Vikaspuri area,Swaraj Abhiyan has claimed. The forum, led by expelled AAP leaders Yogendra Yadav andPrashant Bhushan, has been holding ‘Jan Sunwayi’ (publichearings) on "proliferation" of liquor vends in the city. "We had a ‘Jan Sunwayi’ at Vikaspuri area this evening.There are two vends in that area and women had beencomplaining about it. After the campaign, owner of one of thevends, removed its board, closed it and left," a SwarajAbhiyan leader said. "And, after the hearing, hundreds of people of the areagheraoed the second vend and demanded its closure," the leadersaid. Police later even intervened and the vend was closed, heclaimed. "People of the area have said that if these vends openagain, then they would be made to shut down," he added. Earlier, Yadav in his speech reiterated his accusationagainst Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of giving sanction toopen 399 liquor outlets in the national capital over the lastone year.
