Puducherry, Sept 13 (PTI) Puducherry Pradesh Congresscommittee today asked the Karnataka government to take sternaction against those indulging in violence and vandalism overCauvery water issue. A meeting of the executive committee of the PCC adoptedseveral resolutions including one on the Cauvery issue. The resolution said "the current extraordinary situationin Karnataka on Cauvery water issue has come to cause concern.Innocent Tamils have been attacked and their properties aredamaged." It requested the Karnataka government to take sternmeasures against ‘perpetrators of violence’ and ensure thatTamils were provided appropriate protection. Another resolution pledged to put in a coordinated effortfor the ‘impressive’ win in the bypoll that Narayanasamy wouldcontest here to become an elected assembly membter. Narayanasamy, a non-member of the House, is set to facea bypoll within six months of his assuming office of ChiefMinister. He took charge on June 6. The party would embark on public meetings to explain topeople highlights of the budget presented by the ChiefMinister in the House on August 29 for fiscal 2016-2017. The meeting complimented the "people`s friendlyadministration Chief Minister V Narayanasamy has beenproviding in Puducherry since assuming office 100 days ago." The Chief Minister,his cabinet colleagues and legislatorswere among those who participated in the meeting held hereunder the chairmanship of PWD Minister and PCC presidentA Namassivayam. PTI CORRBN
