Police may seek help of a cricketer’s son in Preity-Ness mess

Date:

Mumbai: The Mumbai police are planning to approach the minor son of a legendary cricketer who was sitting in the same Wankhede enclosure where Ness Wadia allegedly abused Preity Zinta during an IPL match. Meanwhile, Preity Zinta’s lawyer has denied reports of a settlement in the case filed by her against her former boyfriend Ness Wadia

The police asked the actress to appear in person and record her statement in the next one week. This even as her lawyer clarified that Preity’s case against Ness Wadia is not one of sexual assault or molestation, but of misbehaviour.

The police want to record Preity’s detailed statement as CCTV footages obtained by them do not contain the alleged spat between the two. “We will seek some more CCTV footages in the coming days as whatever footages we have got do not show any spat between the two,” an official said.

Investigators have indicated that Ness would be called for questioning only after recording Zinta’s statement.
