New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 8 wickets in the second ODI at Saxton Oval, Nelson and are leading 5-match series, 2-0.
Pakistan, who won the toss and decided to bat first, were never there in the match. They had a really bad start in the batting as they lost their first 7 wickets under the score of 150 runs but kudos to sensible batting from Shadab Khan and a quick knock for Hasan Ali which took their team to a decent, fighting total of 246 runs. Shadab and Hasan added crucial 70 runs for the 8th wicket partnership.
In bowling, Pakistan seamers really started well as they struck twice in the first 10 overs but after the 14th over, rain became the spoilsport for them. And as per the DLS method, target got restricted to just 151 runs in 25 overs.
Martin Guptill and Ross Taylor played a handy knock for the side. They completed 100-run partnership in just 81 balls and at the end take their team to an easy 8-wicket win in 23.5 overs.
