Terrorist involved in Shujaat Bukhari’s assassination shot dead in J&K

Naveed Jutt, a terrorist allegedly involved in the assassination of journalist Shujaat Bukhari was shot dead in an encounter here on Wednesday.

The encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Chathergam village of Budgam early this morning.

He is the second terrorist, allegedly involved in Bukhari’s killing, to be gunned down by security forces. On November 23, in another encounter security forces neutralised Azad Malik, allegedly involved in Bukhari’s killing, in Sekipora area of Bijbehara in Anantnag.

Bukhari was the editor of Rising Kashmir and was shot dead by terrorists in Srinagar on June 14. He was attacked when he was leaving his office in Press Colony in the city. He was reportedly hit by multiple bullets at point blank. Two security guards who were saving him were also injured.
