Amit Shah releases BJP manifesto for Odisha

The BJP on Sunday released the party’s election manifesto for Odisha assembly elections in Bhubaneswar.

While launching BJP’s Sankalp Patra, party president Amit Shah slammed the ruling BJD in the state. Shah was accompanied by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

“BJD has proved worse than Congress in Odisha. They haven’t been able to live up to the expectations of the people of Odisha,” Shah said.

Shah is also scheduled to hold three election rallies in Odisha and two rallies in Maharashtra.

According to the Odisha Election Commission, the total number of electorates for the state Assembly elections currently stands at 3.18 crore, out of which 1.63 crores are males while 1.54 crore are females. Odisha will see over 5.45 lakh first-time voters who fall in the age bracket of 18 to 19 years.

The eastern state will witness a triangular contest among the ruling BJD, the BJP, and Congress.

The Odisha Legislative Assembly comprises of 147 seats and the next state assembly election along with the Lok Sabha election will be held in four phases – April 11, 18, 23, 29.
The counting of votes will be held on May 23.
