In the latest update from #ParisAttacks, French police has identified one of the gunmen who blew himself up at the Bataclan concert hall, the scene of the bloodiest attack where 89 people were killed, as 29-year-old Paris native Omar Ismail Mostefai.

Attacker’s father and his 34-year-old brother has been taken into custody by police and a source close to the probe said investigators are now searching the homes of other friends and relatives of the killer.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi who was in UK has condemned the horrific attacks in Paris on Saturday and said that it is not just an act of terror it is an act against humanity.

“It is high time that UN should define terrorism as soon as possible,” PM Modi said after unveiling a statue of Basaveshwara in London.

On a cheerful night, when thousands of fans were enjoying the football match between France and world champion Germany, horror struck in an unprecedented manner and a group of attackers with reportedly bombs on them as well opened fire across various sites across Paris and and at the stadium where the soccer match was being played. At least 120 people have been killed in a series of deadly terror attacks according to a provisional total, a source close to the investigation said.

Four of the suspected attackers are among the dead, including three who were inside the Bataclan concert hall which was stormed by armed police and another who launched a suicide attack near the Stade de France national stadium.

According to Paris police all attackers are believed to be dead and a state of emergency has been declared following the attacks. The French officials said that they are re-imposing border checks which had been removed after Europe created its free-travel zone in the 1980s.

According to reports, Islamic state group has claimed the responsibility for the attacks.

All major public spaces in Paris like schools, museums, libraries, gyms, pools, food markets to remain shut in response to the horrific attacks and borders are also closed.

Addressing a press conference after the attacks, French President Francois Hollande said that a unified France will fight this over and their fight will be ‘merciless’.

Addressing his second press conference, French President said that the country will triumph against the barbarities. Hollande confirmed the ISIS hand behind the attacks and also declared 3 days nation-wide mourning for the victims.

Talking on the death toll of the civilians, Hollande said that 127 people have been killed so far and around 180 are injured.

Facebook launched a check-in feature to let people know that friends in Paris were safe after a series of bombings and shootings in the French capital killed at least 120 people on Friday.

The “Paris Terror Attacks” safety check let people signal whether they were out of harm’s way, then notified all those they know at the leading social network.

“Quickly find and connect with friends in the area,” a message at the Facebook Safety Check page read. “Mark them safe if you know they’re OK.”

The feature also allowed people to check which friends listed as being in Paris had not yet checked in as safe.

“We are shocked and saddened by the events unfolding in Paris,” a Facebook spokesman told AFP.

“Communication is critical in these moments both for people there and for their friends and families anxious for news.”

The death toll in the “unprecedented” series of attacks across Paris climbed through the night.

Police said around 100 people were killed at the Bataclan music venue in eastern Paris alone, where one witness said an attacker yelled “Allahu Akbar” (God is greatest).

My thoughts are with everyone in Paris tonight. Violence like this has no place in any city or country in the world….
