New Delhi: As a thick blanket of smog continued to cover the national Capital with pollution level remaining very high and rupturing the safe limit by over 17 times at several places, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said that rather politicising the crucial pollution issue, it is necessary to solve it together.
Addressing media after holding an emergency meeting over alarming pollution levels, Kejriwal said, “Delhi schools will remain closed for next three days and all demolition and construction activities will be banned for five days.”
Announcing appropriate measures to curb pollution level, Kejriwal added, “No diesel generators to be used for the next 10 days, except in hospital and emergency places.”

Kejriwal also said that the Badarpur Power Plant will be shut down for the next 10 days, and vacuum cleaning of roads will start from November 10.
The jet sprinkling of roads will start from Monday onwards.
He also appealed people to stay back at home as much as they could and should work from home, Kejriwal also said the government is examining making odd even back soon and is working on it.
Earlier, the Centre announced that the Delhi is witnessing an “emergency situation” due to the alarming pollution level, and has called an emergency meeting of Environment Ministers of all neighbouring states on Monday to control stubble burning by farmers, as the result of which, Delhi becoming a “gas chamber”.
Earlier on Saturday, Kejriwal compared the capital to a “gas chamber” and criticized the practice of crop burning in Haryana and Punjab for the increase in pollution in the national capital, as air quality in the city dipped to its worst in 17 years.

Meanwhile, 7,000 CISF security personnel deployed to guard the IGI airport, Delhi Metro, and other places will be given protective masks to save themselves from the polluted air.
Schools have also been shut in Gurgaon since friday.
