‘Tax collection goes up since Demonetisation,’ says Jaitley

The government on Monday told that the tax collection has gone up since the demonetisation was implemented by the central government.

Finance Minister while addressing the press conference said:

“Excise collection up 43%, service tax 23.9%, customs duty increases 4.1%.”

“April-December 2016 direct tax collection up 12.01%,” Jaitley added.

Finance Minister also said that the collection of indirect taxes have gone up from April to December in 2016 as compared to last financial year.

“Overall increase in indirect taxes for the month of April to December 2016 compared to same figures last year is 25%,” FM Jaitley said.
