“Triple Talaq not allowed without valid reason” says Muslim Personal Law Board

Date:

According to a recent report, All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMLPB) said: “Those who give Triple Talaq without reasons prescribed by the Sharia law will face social boycott”.

Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi said “Muslim women are facing difficulties on the issue of Triple Talaq. We should start working from the ground to fight against it”, during his speech in Bhubaneswar.

The controversial Triple Talaq is a provision under Mulsim religious law where a man can divorce his wife by pronouncing and repeating the word Talaq for three times.

The matter of Triple Talaq is already in the Supreme Court, about its constitutional validity.

The Allahabad court has already ruled against Triple Talaq last December stating that it violates the equality of women in the constitution.

AIMLPB is looking forward to changing the concept and code of conduct of Triple Talaq. “There has been misunderstanding on this issue, we will issue a code of conduct on it,” said the AIMLPB in a report.

According to AIMLPB, Triple Talaq is linked to Quran, and completely discarding it is not acceptable to Muslim Community.
