Indian-origin entrepreneur Arvind Jain has pushed back against fears of artificial intelligence replacing human workers, saying AI should support people rather than take over their jobs.
Speaking at Fortune’s Workplace Innovation Summit, the IIT Delhi graduate and co-founder of enterprise AI firm Glean said he does not believe AI will eliminate human roles. “I don’t think AI, or actually, for me, hopefully forever, too, AI never replaces any human, and it just actually augments us, enables us, allows us to do higher quality work,” Jain said.
His remarks come at a time when concerns over AI-driven layoffs are growing, especially after fresh job cuts at Meta. Several business leaders, including Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon and Ford CEO Jim Farley, have warned about potential employment losses linked to automation.
However, Jain said his company’s experience with major global enterprises does not show widespread job replacement by AI. According to him, AI should work as a co-pilot by handling repetitive tasks and helping employees focus on creativity, decision-making and problem-solving.
“When we started the company seven years back, AI was actually not as powerful as it is today,” Jain added.
