The limited edition Ferrari LaFerrari has always been valued much higher than the original price.
Ferrari earlier decided to produce only 499 units of the hypercar but soon after the devastating earthquakes in Italy in August 2016, Ferrari announced that the 500th unit of LaFerrari will be auctioned to raise funds to benefit the reconstruction of Central Italy.

As expected, the car was auctioned for whopping $7 million (about Rs 47.72 crore!) making it the most expensive production car auctioned in the 21st century.
The previous record was of $ 5,170,000 (around 35 crore) which was also paid for a LaFerrari during August’s 2016 Monterey Car Week.
The auctioned 500th unit of LaFerrari features small Italian tricolour flag at the front with a white dream line on the hood and rear windshield to make it even more special. The auction was held in conjunction with RM Sotheby’s and in collaboration with the National Italian American Foundation’s Earthquake Relief Fund.
