Maruti Suzuki Ignis Launched At Rs 4.59 Lakh

Marking the first big launch of passenger car of the year 2017, Maruti Suzuki has launched their ‘premium urban compact’ Ignis at an introductory starting price of Rs 4.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The car will be available in petrol and diesel with manual and AMT gearbox options.

The Ignis comes in 4 variants in petrol and 3 in diesel engine. Here are the variant wise pricing:

There’s no AMT gearbox available for the top spec variant means if you want the convenience of the AMT, you will have to settle down with lower trim compromising the features of the top variant such as LED projector headlamps, stylish DRLs, automatic AC, driver seat height adjustment, reverse parking camera.

In a good move, unlike the conventional Maruti Suzuki’s variant break ups where most of the features are kept reserved for the top variant, Ignis packs most of the convenient features right from the lower models returning more value for money most of the consumers.

Maruti says the Ignis is targeted to the young millennials buyers and that’s why it’s offered with many funky body colours, many dual tone combination options and roof design with customized patterns. Interiors also feels premium and packs common convenient features like steering mounted controls, bluetooth connectivity, apple carplay and android auto.

The Ignis comes powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine with 82 bhp power and 113 Nm of torque and a 1.25-litre (1248 cc) diesel engine that makes 74 bhp and 190 Nm. Maruti claims fuel efficiency figures of 20.89 kmpl and 26.80 kmpl in petrol and diesel respectively.

Ignis will join Maruti’s premium offering from Baleno and S-Cross sold exclusively through Nexa dealerships. Production of the car has already been started at company’s Gurgaon plant.
