India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki‘s sales network has crossed the 2,000 mark, hence extending its reach to 1,643 cities and towns across the country.
Earlier, the company also announced that its target is to sell 20 lakh units per annum by 2020 and along with that Maruti had speeded up network expansion from 1,100 outlets in 2011-12 to 2007 dealership in 2016-17.
In the last five years, the company has added 200 outlets on an average every fiscal year and talking about the reach of the brand in the cities, it has doubled from 800 cities to in 2011-12 to 1,643 in 2016-17 fiscal year.

Maruti Suzuki is aiming to take the total network mark to 4,000 by 2020, in order to meet its goal of selling 2 million units by 2020.
A spoke person informed, “In recent years just as the company has introduced new models in new segments, the company has also consciously expanded its sales outlets, introduced new channel to reach out to a new set of customers through Nexa.” He further added, “This includes a 360-degree expansion across all formats — existing channel, Nexa, commercial and True Value. Our aim will be to be closer to customers.”
Moreover, the company’s premium retail channel, Nexa is also to grow upto 250 outlets by the end of this fiscal from 127 last year. And to achieve its said target by 2020, Maruti Suzuki plans to launch around 15 new models over the next few years. In the fiscal year 2017-18, Maruti Suzuki is planning to introduce 4 new products, which will include two new models and two will be upgraded version of the existing model.
