Mercedes-AMG has introduced next-gen E63 and E63 S models ahead of global premier at the Los Angeles Auto show next month. From the two models the E63 S is the most powerful and fastest E-Class sedan ever made.
Replacing the current 5.5-litre twin turbo V8, the 2018 E63 and E63 S gets smaller 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine now with 4MATIC all-wheel drive as standard. With the same size of the engine, the base model E63 gets the output of 563hp power and 750N of max torque. It does the 0-100km/h sprint in just 3.5 seconds.

The range-topping E63 S on the other hand, churns out 604hp of max power and 850Nm of peak torque to help it to reach 100 km/h mark from a standstill in just 3.3 seconds. Top speed of both models comes electronically restricted to 250 km/h which can be extended to 300 km/h with AMG Driver’s package.

The new E63 and E63 S gets nine-speed Speedshift MCT (Multi-Clutch Technology) automatic transmission with paddle shifters on steering wheel. Mercedes will not offer the rear wheel drive version of the car but the E63 S model gets a ‘Drift mode’ which will deactivate the ESP, put the transmission in manual mode and also sends all the power to the rear wheels only.

The 2018 E63 and E63 S will go on sale in March 2017 in Europe and later in the US.
