Three members of a family in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur were shot dead by unknown men in an apparent robbery attempt on Tuesday night.
According to reports, 60-year-old Sunil Jaiswal had returned home in the Civil Lines area and was attacked by the robbers. During the robbery attempt, the man’s wife and 25-year old son also came out to resist the robbery. All members of the family were shot at close range.
A neighbour had also tried to stop the robbery and was also shot. Fortunately, he survived the incident and called the police.
The police suspect it to be a case of robbery but have made no arrests so far. The local trader’s association has announced a day-long shutdown in protest of police inaction.
