American actor-comedian and Emmy Award winner Amy Schumer has announced her separation from husband Chris Fischer after seven years of marriage. Schumer confirmed the development through a post on Instagram, describing the split as amicable and requesting privacy during this time.
In her statement, Schumer said that the decision to end the marriage was a difficult one, but mutual. She подчеркed that both continue to love and respect each other and remain focused on raising their son together. The actor also addressed and dismissed speculation surrounding the separation, clarifying that it had nothing to do with weight loss, appearance, or rumours circulating online. She reiterated that the separation is rooted in personal reasons and mutual understanding.
Schumer and Fischer tied the knot in February 2018 and welcomed their son, Gene, in May 2019. According to sources close to the former couple, the separation has been peaceful, with no bitterness involved, and they are in the process of finalising a few matters privately.
Speculation about trouble in their marriage had been doing the rounds for some time, though Schumer had earlier stated that they were still married and committed to working through issues common in long-term relationships. Their last public appearance together was in June this year at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival.
