Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, continue to make headlines, but not for the reasons fans once adored them. The two stars, once inseparable, now find themselves embroiled in an eight-year-long divorce battle that shows no signs of ending soon.
Their recent Venice International Film Festival appearances have only highlighted the ongoing tension. Jolie arrived for the premiere of her film Maria, receiving an eight-minute standing ovation with tears as she reflected on her connection with the iconic opera singer Maria Callas. Meanwhile, Pitt made his entrance hand in hand with his girlfriend Ines de Ramon, attending the festival for his film Wolfs alongside best friend George Clooney. The festival organisers went so far as to schedule their premieres on different days to avoid any potential run-in.
Despite the ongoing legal battles, including the contentious dispute over the ownership and sale of their French winery, Château Miraval, sources close to Pitt reveal that he harbours no ill will towards Jolie. “He’s not rooting against her,” one insider shared, adding that Brad finds the entire situation “incredibly sad.”
In a recent interview Pitt reflected on his life post-split. “I’m really just trying to enjoy the people that I love around me and just living… the air is fresh, and the grass is green,” he said, revealing a man who, despite the turmoil, is trying to find peace.
As for their mutual friends, they find it “shocking” that after nearly a decade, the former couple has yet to finalise their divorce. There is still hope among their circle that they can “resolve the matrimonial side of things while the Miraval case plays out” and finally “get on the same page.”
For now, both stars remain focused on their careers, with Jolie shining in her portrayal of Maria Callas and Pitt enjoying his time with those closest to him.
