Prime Video has expanded its upcoming slate with the announcement of the worldwide premiere date for Lukkhe, an eight-episode musical action drama set against the backdrop of rap culture and street rivalries in Chandigarh. The series is directed by Himank Gaur and produced by Vipul D. Shah and Rajesh Bahl under Optimystix Entertainment and White Guerrilla LLP.
Created and executive produced by Agrim Joshi and Debojit Das Purkayastha, Lukkhe follows the story of two competing MCs—MC Badnaam and OG—whose rivalry unfolds through themes of revenge, ambition, and coming-of-age struggles. The series explores the intersection of music and conflict, with its central theme captured in the tagline: “Rap aur Badla, Dono Loud Hai.”
The cast features rapper-songwriter King alongside Raashii Khanna, Palak Tiwari, and Lakshvir Singh Saran. The ensemble also includes Nakul Roshan Sahdev, Kritika Bharadwaj, Shivankit Parihar—who plays rival rapper OG—Yograj Singh, and Ayesha Raza Mishra.
Commenting on the series, Nikhil Madhok, director and head of originals at Prime Video India, said, “At Prime Video, we believe in constantly raising the bar by experimenting with storytelling – whether it’s blending genres, exploring new formats, or championing unconventional narratives,” said Nikhil Madhok, director and head of originals at Prime Video India.”
“‘Lukkhe’ is a strong reflection of this vision, bringing together high-octane action with pulsating rap music, while seamlessly balancing pace with emotional intensity to create a truly distinctive world. At its heart, the series is a compelling story of revenge and redemption, driven by complex characters and the choices they make.”
The creators also spoke about the project’s vision, stating, “‘Lukkhe’ has been a true passion project for us – one that pushes beyond the conventions of a typical action drama,” added creators and executive producers Agrim Joshi and Debojit Das Purkayastha. “We set out to build a world where high-octane action, pulsating rap music, and raw, human emotions come together seamlessly.”
The series is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Prime Video on May 8. It will stream in Hindi across India and more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
‘Lukkhe’ aims to blend music-driven storytelling with action and drama, centering on rivalry, ambition, and personal transformation within a stylized urban setting.
