Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan has completed its first week in theatres with a worldwide gross of Rs 255 crore despite witnessing a slowdown in weekday collections.
According to industry estimates, the film earned Rs 6.10 crore net in India on Day 7, taking its first-week domestic net collection to around Rs 127 crore. The worldwide gross collection has now reached Rs 255 crore after seven days.
The film has maintained a steady theatrical run despite the expected weekday dip. The Tamil version continues to be the biggest contributor to its box office performance, while Tamil Nadu remains its strongest market.
Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan marks Vijay’s final film before his full-time political career. The film stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Narain in key roles.
Despite mixed reviews and a decline in collections during the weekdays, the film has crossed the Rs 255 crore mark globally within its first week and continues its theatrical run.
