Actor and filmmaker Kangana Ranaut has expressed gratitude to John Abraham for helping her upcoming film Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata get its title, revealing that the actor transferred the rights without asking for any payment.
Speaking at the trailer launch of the film, Kangana shared that the project was originally titled Nurses of Cama. As the film evolved, the makers felt a new title was needed to better reflect the larger spirit of the story and the people it celebrates.
According to Kangana, the title Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata was inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s description of ordinary working citizens as the architects of the nation’s future. The phrase resonated strongly with the team, but there was one challenge: the title had already been registered by John Abraham.
Kangana recalled that when the makers approached John with a request, he agreed almost immediately. She said he handed over the title within a day and did so without charging any fee, a gesture she described as rare and generous in an industry where title rights often involve lengthy negotiations.
The film is based on the remarkable true story of nurses at Mumbai’s Cama Hospital during the 26/11 terror attacks. Amid the violence and uncertainty, the nurses reportedly risked their own lives to protect hundreds of patients and staff members.
For Kangana, the title Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata reflects the courage, dedication and selfless service shown by these healthcare workers. While she credited the inspiration behind the title to Prime Minister Modi’s words, she acknowledged that John Abraham’s support played a key role in making it a reality.
