Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan has stepped forward to support flood-hit Assam by donating ₹1 crore to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, offering financial assistance for ongoing rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts in the state.
The Assam Chief Minister’s Office confirmed the contribution in a post on X, thanking the actor for his generous support during the humanitarian crisis. The actor’s contribution comes as Assam continues to grapple with severe flooding caused by relentless rainfall. According to the latest government bulletin, the disaster has claimed 78 lives, while more than 3 lakh people remain affected across seven districts.
Authorities said floodwaters continue to impact Sivasagar, Charaideo, Golaghat, Jorhat, Nagaon, Biswanath and Kamrup Metropolitan districts. The floods have inundated 551 villages spread across 21 revenue circles, with over 21,500 hectares of agricultural land submerged, disrupting livelihoods and daily life.
Kartik Aaryan is among several members of the film industry extending support to flood relief efforts. Earlier, Salman Khan also joined the humanitarian response through his charitable foundation, Being Human. Working in collaboration with the Salman Khan Fan Club (SKFC) Assam, the organisation has initiated phased relief distribution in some of the state’s worst-affected regions.
As rescue and rehabilitation work continues, contributions from individuals, organisations and public figures are expected to bolster relief efforts and help communities recover from one of Assam’s most severe flood spells this year.
