Nicole Kidman has finally spoken publicly about her split from Keith Urban, months after filing for divorce from the country music star in September 2025. In a recent interview with Variety magazine, the Oscar-winning actress opened up about navigating a difficult period in her personal life and how she is choosing to move forward.
When asked how she has been coping since the separation, Nicole struck a hopeful note. “I am, because I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good,” she said, reflecting on the emotional months that followed the end of their marriage.
Despite the split, Nicole made it clear that her focus remains firmly on family. “What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That’s that,” she shared, emphasising that maintaining stability for her loved ones remains her top priority.
The actress also chose to keep the details of the divorce private out of respect. “Everything else I don’t discuss out of respect,” she said, adding that the bond within their family continues despite the separation. “I’m staying in a place of, ‘We are a family,’ and that’s what we’ll continue to be.”
Speaking fondly about their daughters, Nicole added, “My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.” The former couple share two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15.
Nicole and Keith first met in 2005 and tied the knot the following year, going on to spend nearly two decades together. Their divorce was finalised earlier this year in Nashville after Nicole cited irreconcilable differences in the filing.
Looking back at the past year, Nicole admitted it was a particularly challenging time for her personally. “Well, not last year. I was quiet. I had other things going on. I was in my shell,” she revealed during the conversation.
Now, however, the actress says she is ready to step into a new phase. “Now I’m in a place of saying, ‘2026. Here we go,’” she said with renewed optimism.
On the professional front, Nicole is preparing for several major projects, including the sequel to Practical Magic alongside Sandra Bullock and the upcoming Prime Video series Scarpetta.
