The camp has been organised with arrangements for nearly 500 voluntary donors, while medical teams will conduct health screenings and eligibility checks before every donation.
The initiative has been led by the club’s founder, Praveen Balusu, a longtime Dhoni admirer who has been organising charitable activities on the cricket icon’s birthday for years. This year, the fan club decided to mark the milestone birthday by contributing to a cause that can help save lives. Along with the blood donation camp, members also plan to distribute food to municipal sanitation workers and participate in tree plantation drives.
Praveen, who has authored a book on Dhoni’s 2011 World Cup triumph, says the former India captain’s leadership, humility and discipline have inspired him throughout his life.
Through this initiative, Telugu MSDians hopes to celebrate Dhoni’s legacy beyond cricket by encouraging fans to give back to society and turn admiration into meaningful community service.
