In a video message, Pankaj said her surgery was successful and that she is recovering well. She expressed gratitude to people from across the country who reached out with messages of encouragement.
“Because of your prayers, I am on the road to recovery now. With God’s grace, my surgery went very well,” she said.
The celebrity chef revealed that her cancer was detected at a very early stage, which played a crucial role in her successful treatment and recovery. She also highlighted the importance of routine health check-ups, saying that a regular screening helped identify the disease before it progressed.
Using her own experience as an example, Pankaj urged women, especially those in their 40s, to prioritise breast health and undergo regular screenings. She noted that breast cancer can affect anyone and encouraged women to perform self-examinations and seek medical advice whenever they notice unusual changes.
She concluded her message by thanking supporters once again for standing by her during one of the most challenging periods of her life.
What Is Breast Cancer?
Breast cancer is a disease in which cells in the breast grow uncontrollably and form a tumour. According to Healthline, the condition can develop in different parts of the breast and, if not detected and treated early, may spread to other parts of the body. Early detection through regular screenings significantly improves treatment outcomes and survival rates.
When Should Women Get Screened?
Many health experts recommend that women at average risk begin regular mammogram screenings in their 40s. Women with a family history of breast cancer or other risk factors may need earlier and more frequent screenings after consulting a doctor.
Precautions And Breast Health Tips
• Perform regular breast self-examinations and be aware of any new lumps or changes.
• Schedule routine health check-ups and mammograms as advised by your doctor.
• Seek medical attention if you notice breast pain, skin changes, nipple discharge, or unusual swelling.
• Maintain a healthy lifestyle with regular exercise and a balanced diet.
• Do not ignore symptoms, even if you have no family history of breast cancer. Early detection remains the most effective way to improve treatment outcomes.
