Mumbai: Ending months of speculation surrounding its release timeline, the makers of Spirit have officially confirmed that the highly anticipated Prabhas-led action drama remains on track for its worldwide theatrical release on March 5, 2027, reaffirming confidence in one of Indian cinema’s biggest upcoming projects.
The clarification comes amid growing rumours suggesting possible delays in production and release schedules. However, the filmmakers dismissed the speculation, stating that work on the ambitious pan-world entertainer is progressing according to plan.
“Mounted on a massive scale and progressing as planned, SPIRIT continues to shape up as one of the most anticipated cinematic events on the horizon,” the makers said, as per a press release.
The film stars Prabhas in the lead and marks a major collaboration between producer Bhushan Kumar and filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga following the blockbuster success of Animal. Written, edited and directed by Vanga, Spirit is being positioned as a large-scale multilingual spectacle with a global cinematic appeal.
The film also features Triptii Dimri, Vivek Oberoi and introduces newcomer Aishwarya Desai in a key role. According to the makers, the film will release in eight languages, underscoring its pan-India and international ambitions.
Earlier this year, the production team unveiled a striking poster featuring Vivek Oberoi in a dramatic new avatar. Dressed in a dark robe with sunglasses and holding a sword, the actor appeared in a commanding and menacing look that generated strong reactions online.
Aishwarya Desai was also introduced through the promotional material, with the makers hinting at her significant role in the narrative.
The film is jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga, Krishan Kumar and Prabhakar Reddy Vanga. With production advancing steadily, Spirit is expected to remain one of the most closely watched Indian releases leading up to 2027.
