Acclaimed producer R. B. Choudary, father of actor Jiiva, died in a tragic road accident near Udaipur, Rajasthan, on Tuesday, May 5, sending shockwaves through the Tamil film industry.
A major name in South Indian cinema, Choudary built a remarkable legacy over more than four decades through his production house, Super Good Films. He produced 99 films across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi cinema, delivering many commercial successes. He also played a key role in introducing over 34 directors, including K. S. Ravikumar, Vikraman, Ezhil, Rajakumaran, Sasi and Ravi Maria.
Following his sudden death, several leading stars paid tribute.
Pawan Kalyan wrote, “The demise of renowned producer and Super Good Films head Shri RB Chowdary Garu has left me stunned. I cannot believe the tragic news that Shri Chowdary Garu met with a fatal end in a road accident near Udaipur in Rajasthan. I pray to God that his soul attains peace.”
